Psych-blues-rock power trio SIMO led by guitarist JD Simo – returns to the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy at 8pm on Friday, September 30. Tickets are $10. Also newly announced for The Hangar are the 24th Street Wailers, who are slated to tear into the place at 9pm on Wednesday, October 5.

The Upper Room in Albany welcomes Kim Simmonds & Savoy Brown at 8pm on Saturday, November 12. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20 & $35.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The King of Comedy, Louis CK, is stepping into the spotlight at Albany’s Palace Theatre. Tickets are on sale now.

Singer-songwriter Tom Brosseau teams up with Nickel Creek’s Sean Watkins at Club Helsinki in Hudson at 8pm on Sunday, Oct 2 in support of his new album, North Dakota Impressions. Tickets are $12. Also new on Helsinki’s schedule are Triage with the Late Regulars at 9pm on Saturday, November 12 ($10) and Hayes Carll at 8pm on Thursday, December 29 ($25).

The Slambovian Circus of Dreams bring their surreal Americana to the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 9pm on Saturday, November 26. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door.

Melding an Ethiopian pop aesthetic with soul, funk and rock, the 11-piece Debo Band is slated to blow into Skidmore College’s Zankel Music Center in Saratoga Springs at 8pm on Saturday, November 5. Tickets are $8; $5 seniors; free for students and children.

The Capital Region Blues Network is bringing Williamstown guitarslinger Albert Cummings to The Linda in Albany on Saturday, November 5. The Andrew Wheeler Band opens the show at 8pm. Tickets are $20 and are on sale now.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: As part of its upcoming New York Living Legacy Project series honoring The Band, The Egg announced new concerts by The The Band Band and The Weight.

The Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany plays host to Sabrina Carpenter at 9pm on Friday, November 18 ($15 in advance; $17 at the door), as well as Against the Current with Cruisr and Beach Weather at 8pm on Sunday, November 20 ($15 in advance; $18 at the door).

A Place for Folk kicks off its fall season of concerts with Vance Gilbert at 7:30pm on Friday, October 14 and the Boxcar Lilies at 7:30pm on Friday, November 18. Tickets are $20 each, and the concerts take place at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady’s Whisperdome.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Woodstock Comedy Festival is this weekend, featuring headliners Susie Essman, Gilbert Gottfried and lots more.

As previously announced Sublime tribute band Badfish is headed into Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, October 1, but they’ve already booked a return engagement at the Upstate Concert Hall on Tuesday, December 27. Opening the Clifton Park show at 8pm are the LateShift and Nemesis of Mind Over Matter. Tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Seven-time Grammy Award winner TobyMac and an array of friends – including Matt Maher, Mandisa, Mac Powell (of Third Day), Capital Kings, Ryan Stevenson and Hollyn – are headed into the Times Union Center. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (September 23).

SOLD OUT: Upcoming concerts at The Egg by Ben Folds (Monday, September 26) and Amanda Palmer (Thursday, November 10) are now both officially sold out.

Saxophonist Noah Preminger and pianist Dan Tepfer team up for a concert of jazz duets at the Beattie-Powers House in Catskill at 5pm on ​Saturday, October 1.

CANCELLED: The event with Jillian Michaels that was scheduled for The Egg on Sunday, December 18 has been cancelled. Ticket refunds are available at the place of purchase.

The University of Rochester a cappella group the Yellowjackets will perform two benefit concerts at the Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs. Showtimes are 7:30pm on Saturday, October 15 and 3pm on Sunday, October 16. Tickets are $20; $10 for students & seniors, with proceeds going to the ongoing restoration of the venue.

OPENERS: Marti Brom and the Lustre Kings will open for Dale Watson & His Lonestars at the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy at 8pm on Friday (September 23)… She’s played Proctors and Alive at Five. Now RaeLynn is slated to open for Blake Shelton at Albany’s Times Union Center at 7:30pm on Thursday, September 29… And the Nellies have been tapped to open for Donna the Buffalo for the grand re-opening of the Cohoes Music Hall at 8pm on Thursday, September 29… The Lucky 3 will open for the guitar duo of Grant Gordy & Ross Martin at 9pm on Friday, October 7 at Club Helsinki in Hudson…
