September 19th, 2016, 9:30 am by Greg

The 35th annual LarkFest is Upstate New York’s largest one-day street festival with more than 80,000 people expected to attend from 10am-6pm on Saturday (September 24), when Albany’s Lark Street is closed to traffic and filled with visual art, craft vendors, food trucks and, of course, lots of live music on three stages spread out between Washington and Madison avenues.

The fest organizers have previously revealed the musical headliners, and now here’s the complete line-up of bands slated to perform. Unfortunately, the organizers are almost more than a bit tardy with their announcements, so there’s no time-of-performance schedule yet. Stay tuned…

HERE’S MORE INFO ON THE HEADLINERS:

THE RELATIONSHIP
The Relationship is a rock and roll band from Los Angeles founded in 2007 by Weezer guitarist Brian Bell. In 2010, Bell released the first Relationship album and has since performed and recorded with a revolving cast of players and collaborators. Expect prominent guitars, strong melodies, vivid imagery and propulsive rhythms.

OUGHT
Based in Montreal, Ought is a thrilling and adventurous quartet, delivering an earnest and exuberant post-punk sound: dexterous and exacting while bursting with propulsive and fluid energy, as indebted to Cap’n Jazz as to Talking Heads.
Ought’s 2014 debut More Than Any Other Day brought the Montreal quartet critical acclaim, including high praise from Rolling Stone, NME and Pitchfork.

LOWER DENS
Lower Dens are a Baltimore shoegaze formed in 2010. Formed by Jana Hunter, the band has released three full-length albums filled with cinematic and tonally rich work. Their most recent album, Escape From Evil, has received rave reviews, including the Best New Music stamp from Pitchfork.

DELICATE STEVE
Delicate Steve is the brainchild of New Jersey-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Steve Marion. Spin has called the music “a kaleidoscope of bouncy pan-African polyrhythms and swooping six-string melodies, like the Dirty Projectors with guitars instead of singers.” A true child of his labelmeister David Byrne, “Delicate” Steve Marion translates the felicities of West African guitar pop into an inventive instrumental hodgepodge.

THE TELEVISIONARIES
Rochester’s Televisionaries offer lightning-paced rock & roll firmly embedded in surf rock splendor. Too rock & roll for the punks and too rough around the edges for the rock & rollers.
