FILM: “Theory of Obscurity: A Film About the Residents” @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. The story of the renegade sound and visions of The Residents is clouded in mystery. Preferring that their fans and critics focus on their music, rather than individual personalities, many details surrounding the group have remained secret, including the identities of its members. This documentary takes viewers inside this incredibly private collective. 7pm. $9; $6 students.

FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Mountain Jam @ Hunter Mountain, Hunter. Let the rockin’ begin! It’s Day One of Greater Nippertown’s first really big fest of the summer. Featuring Umphrey’s McGee, Train (playing Led Zeppelin II), Marco Benevento & Superhuman Happiness: A Tribute to David Bowie, Donna the Buffalo, Cabinet, Wild Adriatic and Jane Lee Hooker.
