Three New Concerts Announced for The Egg

The Egg has announced a trio of new concerts that cut across musical genres from folk-rock to world jazz to classic rock. Tickets for the three new shows are currently available exclusively to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public at 11am on Tuesday (April 26).

RICHARD THOMPSON
Friday, June 10, 8pm, $39.50
Iconic British folk rock legend Richard Thompson, one of the world’s most critically acclaimed and prolific songwriters and admired guitarists, performs a unique concert accompanied by a string orchestra.

RUDRESH MAHANTHAPPA’S INDO-PAK COALITION
Saturday, September 17, 8pm, $28
Synthesizing jazz with the improvised musical forms of South Asia, the Indo-Pak Coalition features saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa, guitarist Rez Abbasi and percussionist Dan Weiss. Incorporating electronics, live audio processing and inventive hybrid percussion, the trio will perform their new suite “Agrima,” an amalgamation of ideas and notions that blurs the lines of genre, discipline and ethnicity.

MARTIN BARRE
Friday, September 23, 8pm, $34
Martin Barre, the lead guitarist of Jethro Tull, leads his own band to perform the classic rock music from the revered Tull catalog, as well as blues and rock from his own recordings, including his latest album, Back to Steel.
