Hard-rockin’ NYC-based band the Giraffes bring their heavy jams to the Half Moon in Hudson on Saturday (January 30) in celebration of the vinyl release of their new album, Usary, on Silver Sleeve Records. The album was originally released last fall in digital-only format.

Lead singer Aaron Lazar and guitar wizard Damien Paris form the focus of the band supported by the locomotive rhythm section of maniac drummer Andrew Totolos and latest Giraffe, Josh Taggart on bass.

Joining the Giraffes for the celebration at the Half Moon will be Slow Collins and DJ Lunar Moss.

Queensbury singer-songwriter Austin Barosi celebrates the release of his new debut CD, All Around My Window, with a concert at the Hudson River Music Hall in Hudson Falls at 8pm on Saturday (January 30). He’ll be performing the vast majority of the album’s songs with a full band.

Drawing on such diverse musical influences as Alice in Chains, Pat Metheny, Pink Floyd and Philip Glass, Barosi’s songs take on a progressive, outside-the-box structure, combining unconventional melodies with dense harmonic textures. Opening the show will be Band of Ghosts, who will be playing an acoustic set. Tickets are $10; $8 for seniors, students & veterans.
