The third annual Camp Copperhead welcomes singers, guitarists, songwriters and poets into an immersive four-day musical experience. It’s a chance to hear the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter-author-actor speak on his classic songs, choices and techniques during intimate workshops. Master classes will be available for songwriting, poetry and guitar playing taught by guest instructors – including Shawn Colvin. The evenings will feature open mic sessions, and on the final night, the camp will close with a concert by Earle.

“This is going to be a good time,” says Earle. “We’re going to be living together, eating together, learning together and enjoying music together for four days. I’ll be using my songs as the template because I know those the best, of course. You’ll also have an opportunity to work with an incredible group of instructors, including my longtime friend Shawn. She’s a real live folksinger-songwriter, one of the best that I know. Plays great, sings her ass off and writes songs that will be around after we are all gone.”

“Steve’s Camp Copperhead promises to be a truly unique experience,” adds Colvin. “Steve and I are committed teachers, and there are bound to be a lot of laughs, too.”

Prices for the camp range from $1399 for tent camping to $2499 for a private room with a private bath. The price includes accommodations; three meals a day; all workshops, activities and entertainment for four days and nights; a welcome kit from D’Addario; parking; and wi-fi. If you register by Sunday, January 31, you’ll also receive a complimentary autographed copy of Steve Earle’s novel, “I’ll Never Get Out of this World Alive,” when you arrive at camp.
