The Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany welcomes Elise Testone – the sixth place finisher in season 11 of “American Idol” – and her All Star Band featuring Todd Stoops and Eric Kalb at 9pm. on to the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany at 9pm on Thursday, December 17. Tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds wing their way into Club Helsinki in Hudson at 9pm on Saturday, March 5. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door.

UPDATE: Rap pioneer Kurtis Blow will be the guest MC for “The Hip Hop Nutcracker” at Proctors in Schenectady at 7:30pm on Monday, December 21. Tickets are $20-$45.

CANCELLED: The concert by rockabilly queen and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson with the Lustre Kings – originally scheduled for 8pm on Saturday (December 5) at the recently re-opened Cohoes Music Hall – has been cancelled due to injury.

In support of his latest album, b’lieve i’m goin down…, Kurt Vile & the Violators are headed into Pearl Street in Northampton at 8:30pm on Thursday, February 18. Tickets are $18 in advance; $20 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Dave Matthews Band guitarist Tim Reynolds is headed into the Cohoes Music Hall for a solo acoustic concert. Tickets are on sale now.

Nashville electro-popsters Cherub – the duo of Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber – take over the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, as their …Still DTF? Tour rolls into town at 8pm on Wednesday, February 3. With Gibbz and Mike Floss opening. Tickets are on sale now priced at $17 in advance; $19 at the door.

POSTPONED: Originally scheduled for 7pm on Friday & Saturday, December 11 & 12, Chris Smither’s concerts at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton have been postponed to 7pm on Saturday, July 16. Tickets are $28 in advance; $33 at the door.

SOLD OUT: After a 25-year run of their annual holiday show “Mountain Snow & Mistletoe,” Christopher Shaw and Bridget Ball have decided that this year’s shows at The Egg will be the last. The Sunday matinee on December 13 is now officially sold out, but there are still tickets available for the show at 7:30pm on Saturday, December 12. Tickets are $25.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Prog-rock guitar hero Steven Wilson – best known as the leader of Porcupine Tree – wowed fans at The Egg back in May, and now he’s slated a return trip to Albany’s iconic orb-shaped theater in support of his new album, 4 1/2, due for release in January. Tickets go on sale on Friday (December 4).

CANCELLED: It is with a heavy heart that we report the cancellation of the concert by Iron Butterfly originally slated for 7pm on Monday, December 14 at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton. Refunds are available at the place of purchase.

Among the new concerts added to the calendar at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton are C.J. Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band at 7pm on Friday, February 5 ($12.50 in advance; $15 at the door); Garnet Rogers at 7pm on Friday, March 4 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door); Jonathan Edwards at 7pm on Saturday, April 9 ($28 in advance; $33 at the door); and the Stick Men featuring Tony Levin, Pat Mastellotto and Markus Reuter at 7pm on Thursday, April 21 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door).

OPENERS: At The Egg in Albany, Saun & Starr open for Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings at 7:30pm on Saturday (December 5), and Deva Mahal – the daughter of bluesman Taj Mahal – has been tapped as the opening act for the Tedeschi Trucks Band at 7:30pm on Tuesday (December 8).

RE-SCHEDULED: Reggae greats the Mighty Diamonds were originally slated to play the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock on Friday, November 27, but they were unable to leave Jamaica, and the show was postponed at the last minute. Now it been re-scheduled, and the Mighty Diamonds are back on the Bearsville calendar for 9pm on Saturday, January 30. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door; $50 VIP.
