COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

Led by frontman Matt Bishop, the Seattle-based chamber pop band Hey Marseilles hits the stage at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Thursday, February 4. Tickets are $18. Also coming up at The Linda is the Mexo Americana duo David Wax Museum featuring David Wax and Suz Slezak, who return to Albany at 8pm on Friday, March 25. Tickets are $18.

POSTPONED: Due to injuries suffered during a recent tour bus accident, Hinder has postponed their concert that was slated for tonight (Wednesday, November 25) at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park. The concert has been re-scheduled for 8pm on Friday, January 15, and all tickets purchased for the original date will be honored on the new date.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Classic rockers Journey and the Doobie Brothers will be teaming up for the San Francisco Fest 2016 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center next summer. Opening the show will be Dave Mason. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Saturday, December 5.

The New York Times describes his music as a “boldly surreal aural experience.” Brooklyn composer Daniel Wohl celebrate the release of his new CD Holographic with a concert at MASS MoCA in North Adams at 8pm on Saturday, January 16. He’ll be joined by Mantra Percussion and the Holographic String Quartet for a multimedia performance at the museum’s Hunter Center. Tickets go on sale at 11am on Monday, December 14, priced at $12 in advance; $18 at the door; $8 students; $22 preferred.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg in Albany announced four new concerts – Allman Brothers tribute band Live at the Fillmore, the tandem of slide guitar greats Sonny Landreth & Cindy Cashdollar, contemporary Brazilian singer Bebe Gilberto and the newgrass pioneering Sam Bush Band. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11am on Tuesday (December 1).

It’s been just over a year since Albany’s Madison Theater transformed one of its movie theaters into a live performance venue, and the folks there have beefed up their music schedule with the addition of a number of upcoming concerts, including Phyllis Chapell & Siora World Jazz at 8pm on Saturday (November 28) ($12); guitarslinger Mike Campese rips it up at 8:30pm on Saturday, December 5 ($10); Christmas with the Canjo 10’s & Friends at 7pm on Friday, December 18 ($10); the Country Jamboree at 8pm on Saturday, December 19 ($17 in advance; $20 at the door); blues guitar great Albert Cummings at 8pm on Friday, January 8 ($20); and veteran NYC rocker Garland Jeffreys at 8pm on Friday, January 15 ($20).

Beatles tribute band 1964 plays a New Year’s Eve concert at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton at 8pm on Thursday, December 31. Tickets go on sale on Friday (November 27), priced at $25, $35 & $50.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Peter Yarrow & Noel Paul Stookey carry on the musical legacy of their iconic ’60s folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary in concert at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall at 8pm on Saturday, October 1. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Monday (November 30).

Stand-up comedian Gilbert Gottfried brings the laughs to the Glens Falls Civic Center’s Heritage Hall in Glens Falls at 8pm on Thursday, January 7. Tickets are $25-$32.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Virtuoso vocalist Josh Groban and Sarah McLachlan are headed to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, December 11.

Eleanor Friedberger (of the Fiery Furnaces) rolls into Woodstock’s Bearsville Theater at 9pm on Saturday, February 20 in support of her third solo album, New View. Tickets are $15.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Tanglewood in Lenox announced much of its 2016 season including a concert by the Chick Corea Trio (featuring Christian McBrde and Brian Blade).

Portland punks Poison Idea roar into Albany’s Fuze Box on Thursday, February 18. The show kicks off at 7pm with support acts Child Bite, Aggressive Response and Dialysis, and tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

UPDATE: Two weeks ago, we announced that Jennifer Nettles (of Sugarland) would be headlining the CMT Next Women of Country Tour (also featuring Brandy Clark with special guests Lindsay Ell and Tara Thompson) at Albany’s Palace Theatre. Now the Palace has released ticket info for the show – priced at $34.75, $39.75, $49.75, $69.75 & $79.75, tickets will be available to Palace members on Wednesday, December 9 and to the general public Friday, December 11.

The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park welcomes the Snailin USA Tour Part 2, featuring Snails and Ghostly at 7pm on Saturday, February 20. The first 200 tickets are priced at $16; $20 thereafter.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Saratoga Performing Arts Center unveiled most of its summer 2016 50th anniversary season including the superstar pairing of violin virtuoso Joshua Bell and jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, who will be teaming up with the Philadelphia Orchestra and conductor Cristian Mãcelaru.

SOLD OUT: The concert by Warren Haynes & the Ashes to Dust Band, scheduled for The Egg’s Hart Theatre in Albany on Saturday, March 5, is now officially sold out.
