COMIN’ SOON: New Concert Announcements

Up in Clifton Park, the Upstate Concert Hall has announced a couple of new shows. Fuel (with former frontman Brett Scallions returning to the microphone) will headline Q103’s Christmas Chaos Concert at 8pm on Thursday, December 17. Red Sun Rising opens the show. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (October 30), priced at $10.30 for the first 103 tickets sold. Thereafter advance tickets will be $15; $18 at the door. And Sublime With Rome takes the stage on Tuesday, November 17, with the Expendables opening at 8pm. $35 advance tickets are currently on sale; tickets will be $38 at the door.

Led by drummer Jerry Marotta and guitarist Trey Gunn, the Peter Gabriel/Genesis tribute band the Security Project progs up the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 9pm on Friday, December 4. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door; $30 Golden Circle (includes meet & greet).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Following their knock-out concert at SPAC this summer, the Tedeschi Trucks Band is returning to Greater Nippertown for a concert at The Egg’s Hart Theatre in Albany. Tickets go on sale on Friday (October 30).

The Bob Warren Band celebrates the release of Warren’s new album, All the Days of the World, with a pair of shows at Caffe Lena at 4:30 & 8pm on Saturday, November 7. Tickets are $18 in advance; $20 at the door. IN CASE YOU MISSED: Veteran omni-popsters NRBQ have been announced as the headliners for the 20th annual First Night Saratoga celebration in Saratoga Springs. Other bands who will be joining in the family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration include Jim Gaudet & the Railroad Boys. Harold Ford’s The Spirit: A Tribute to Johnny Cash, MaryLeigh Roohan, Ramblin Jug Stompers, Matthew Carefully, Sirsy, Big Fez & the Surfmatics, Michael Jerling, Jack Grace and lots more. More than 70 acts in total…

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield has announced a pair of new concerts for its spring calendar – legendary reggae band the Wailers (led by Aston “Family Man” Barrett) and British blues great John Mayall and his band.

Cassidy & the Music – the former lead singer, main songwriter and driving force behind the all-female rock quintet, Antigone Rising – is slated to take the stage at The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Friday, Dec 4 in support of her self-titled solo debut. Tickets are $18.

CANCELLED: The concert by dobro/pedal steel guitar queen Cindy Cashdollar that was initially slated for 7pm on Sunday (November 1) at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs has been cancelled.

DeQn Sue – the Alabama-based singer who won the Tiny Desk Concert Contest earlier this year with her quirky alt-pop songs that blend funk and electronic music with R&B – makes her Greater Nippertown concert debut at the MCLA Church Street Center in North Adams at 7:30pm on Friday, November 6.Tickets are $12; $5 students, with proceeds to benefit the Margaret A. Hart Scholarship Fund.

CANCELLED: The concert by Holly Herndon – originally scheduled for Friday, December 11 at EMPAC at RPI in Troy – has been cancelled.

The Living Roots Trio step into the spotlight at Club Helsinki in Hudson at 8pm on Saturday, January 9 with Matt Heckler and Jen Zimberg opening. Ticket prices TBA.
