Following the second annual Enchanted City steampunk festival in downtown Troy, which attracted an estimated crowd of 4,000, the festivities moved over to the Takk House for the Queen’s Ball featuring Melora Creager’s cello-driven band Rasputina and the Dust Bowl Faeries, led by Ryder Cooley and her faithful taxidermied companion Hazel. And inbetween the two bands, there was some pretty cool glow-in-the-dark hula hoop entertainment, too…

NOTE: Both of the bands from the Queen’s Ball are playing in Greater Nippertown tonight (Thursday, October 15). Rasputina is celebrating the release of their new album Unknown with a show at Club Helsinki in Hudson, while the Dust Bowl Faeries land in Albany to share the stage with Marc Delgado (of Wounded Knee) and Knotworking at the Low Beat.
