Camp Creek returns to the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville this week for three days of rock ‘n’ roll and all-around festival fun, Friday-Sunday (August 28-30).

The fest is anchored by Max Creek, the pioneering New England jam band that’s celebrating their 44th year as a band. The intimate camping festival also features performances by the guitar duo of Fred Tackett & Paul Barrere from Little Feat, the Ryan Montbleau Band and the Doors tribute band Riders On the Storm. In addition, Camp Creek 2015 features two increasingly popular Nippertown band, Eastbound Jesus and the Blind Owl Band, whose roots-based sounds mesh perfectly with the down-home vibe of Camp Creek.

Unlike many other festivals, the Camp Creek schedule is designed to let fans check out every band on the bill – none of the acts (on two stages) overlap. Attendees get to camp next to their cars on the spacious grounds of Indian Lookout Country Club, which Camp Creek has called home since 1994.

“We offer fans an intimate festival experience, with everything close by and plenty of amenities,” explains Event Coordinator Derek Kipp. “This event caters to a certain kind of fan, one who appreciates live musicianship and a close-knit community. Collaborations and guest sit-ins are the norm at Camp Creek, and the spontaneous musical chemistry that results is a key part of the magic of these gatherings. There’s very little separation between performers and audience, and it seems to put everyone in a very communal frame of mind.”

Percussionist extraordinaire Ed Mann, best known as a veteran of Frank Zappa’s ensembles, will be featured as “artist-at-large” during the event, sitting in with many of the acts performing over the weekend.

Max Creek, founders and focus of the festival, is slated to perform two long sets on Saturday night and close out the event on Sunday afternoon.

Gates open 9am on Friday (August 28) and campgrounds clear out by sundown on Sunday (August 30).
