MUSIC/FILM: The Gary McFarland Legacy Ensemble @ the Madison Theater, Albany. Featuring saxophonist Sharel Cassity, pianist Bruce Barth, bassist Mike Lawrence and drummer Michael Benedict, the band celebrates the release of their new CD, Circulation: The Music of Gary McFarland. With a screening of Kristian St. Claire’s documentary film, “This is Gary McFarland.” 7pm. $15.

MUSIC: Parker Millsap @ the Ale House, Troy. The twentysomething singer-songwriter from Oklahoma and his band make a stop in the Collar City direct from a knock-out performance at the Green River Festival. 8pm. $12.
