FESTIVAL/MUSIC: Built4BBQ’s Star Spangled Bonanza @ the Low Beat & Pauly’s Hotel, Albany. Te second annual Independence Day bash features nine bands – Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, the Slaughterhouse Chorus, Charmboy, Party Boat, Henry’s Rifle, the Kimono Dragons, the End Men and more – on the two stages in a celebration of independent music. MUSIC: Martha Wainwright @ Bard College’s Speigletent, Annandale-On-Hudson. Not nearly as flamboyant as her brother Rufus, but just as outspoken and talented. 8:30pm. $25-$66.

THEATER: “Shining City” @ Barrington Stage Company’s Blatt Center, Pittsfield. Actor Mark H. Dold (stunning in last year’s production of “Breaking the Code”) returns in Conor McPherson’s drama about a Dubliner who seeks help from a counselor after claiming to have seen the ghost of his recently deceased wife.
