FREE: First Concert Announced for the Empire State Plaza

Last year, the Empire State Plaza in Albany hosted the Capital Concert Series, a pretty solid line-up of four free Wednesday night concerts during the month of June – Living Colour, Kellie Pickler, Bootsy Collins and George Thorogood & the Destroyers.

Although there’s been no official word yet from the folks at the Empire State Plaza, it’s looking like a concert series might be back on the calendar again this summer.

According to his website, reggae star Maxi Priest is slated to headline a concert on the Plaza on Wednesday, June 24. The second-generation reggae band Morgan Heritage is scheduled to share the bill in support of their upcoming tenth studio album, Strictly Roots, due for release on Tuesday, April 20.

    Where will the stage be? Last fall the museum steps were under construction.
