NYS Music March Madness: Round Two Results; Sweet 16 Voting Now Open

Led by Johnny Salka, Albany’s Hard Soul continues to be the Cinderella team of NYS Music March Madness. As the No. 16 seed in the Metal/Rock/Punk division, Hard Soul knocked out No. 1 seed Every Time I Die in the opening round, and they continued their march to the Sweet Sixteen by out-scoring Perfect Pussy in Round Two.

Online voting for Round Two of the match-ups ended at 12midnight on Monday (March 23). GO HERE to see the complete results…

The Metal/Rock/Punk division of the brackets is now an all-Local 518 battle, as Brick by Brick, Jesus Christ & the Hallucinogenic Allstars and Wild Adriatic all advanced to the Sweet Sixteen, along with Hard Soul.

In the Jam/Funk/Reggae division, former Nippertonians moe. and Local 518 faves Conehead Buddha have also advanced in the competition. Other Capital Region bands moving on to the Sweet Sixteen include Phantogram, the North & South Dakotas and Eastbound Jesus (who knocked out No. 1 seed the Felice Brothers).

Winners are determined by online voting, and voting for the Sweet Sixteen is now open. GO HERE to vote. Deadline for voting is 12midnight on Thursday (March 26).
