Fultonville’s Sawyer Fredericks on “The Voice”: Knockout or Knocked Out?

Long-haired 15-year-old Fultonville farmboy Sawyer Fredericks wowed his coach Pharrell Williams in an unprecedented three-way battle in the Knockout Round of NBC-TV’s singing competition “The Voice” on Monday evening (March 23).

Stepping out of his comfort zone, Fredericks grabbed the microphone Without his usual guitar around his shoulder and served up a soulful rendition of Howie Day’s “Collide” to advance to the Live Playoffs of the competition.

    If this guy doesn’t turn up at one of the local summer concerts, such as Riverlink, Alive at 5, Music Haven or wherever, it would be a shame. Not only because I’m too broke to pay to see him at the Palace, TU or SPAC (I am), but because it would be a case of most of us never even having a chance to see him before he takes off. Unless he plans to hang around to finish high school. Good luck, kid.
