Following shows at the Half Moon in Hudson and the Parlor Room in Northampton, Charlie Parr made his third Nippertown appearance of the week last Sunday (March 8) at WAMC-FM’s The Linda, digging through a deep songbag of original and traditional roots music, as well as offering a sneak preview of his upcoming album, Stumpjumper, which is slated for release next month.

Nearly stealing the show, however, was J.D. Wilkes (of the Legendary Shack Shakers) and his banjo, in support of his debut solo album Cattle in the Cane, delving into the lost sounds of Kentucky. Local 518 duo Lost Radio Rounders rounded out the roots music mini-fest, making for a rousing Sunday evening of trad-minded music.
