MUSIC: Jenny Hval @ the Half Moon, Hudson. She opened for St. Vincent at the Upstate Concert Hall over the weekend. Now she’s got a night as headliner. With Slow Collins.

MUSIC: Festival of Contemporary Music @ UAlbany Performing Arts Center, Albany. The 23rd annual fest features the Empire State Youth and Repertory Percussion Ensembles and the University Percussion Ensemble performing Varese’s “Ionisation” (featuring more than 40 percussion instruments), Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite,” Cage’s “Amores” and more. 7pm. $6; $3 students & seniors.

ARTIST TALK: Lesley Dill @ Skidmore College’s Gannett Auditorium, Saratoga Springs. The Malloy Lecture by the artist who is recognized for using a variety of media and techniques to explore themes of language, the body and transformational experience through sculpture, photography and performance. 6pm.
