Kim Simmonds & Savoy Brown – who were in the vanguard of the British blues invasion of the ’60s – bring their 50th anniversary tour to the Van Dyck in Schenectady for two shows on Friday, March 13. Showtimes are 7 & 9:30pm. Tickets are now available for $19 in advance; $23 at the door.

New on the Low Beat’s calendar are Two Cow Garage with Grainbelt at 8pm on Friday, February 27; Freedy Johnston at 8pm on Thursday, March 19; the Silos’ Walter Salas-Humara at 8pm on Saturday, April 25; and Whitehorse at 6pm on Wednesday, May 20.

UPDATE: Livingston Taylor’s 7pm concert on Saturday (February 8) at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs is now officially sold out. But a second show has been added for 9pm. Chelsea Berry will open both shows. Tickets for the 9pm show are $50 in advance; $52 at the door (if there are still any available).

Club Helsinki has announced a couple of new shows for the spring calendar – Over the Rhine at 9pm on Friday, April 17 and the return of Troy troubadour Sean Rowe at 9pm on Friday, May 1. In addition, the Helsinki on Broadway series is bringing back Tony Award-winning actor-singer Jim Dale with his cabaret show, “Just Jim Dale,” at 7pm on Sunday, March 22. Tickets prices for the newly announced shows are TBA.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Fresh from his recent sold-out show at Albany’s Palace Theatre, guitarslinger Joe Bonamassa returns to Nippertown for a pavilion-only concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center as part of his Three Kings Tour, paying tribute to Freddie King, Albert King and B.B. King. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Saturday (February 7).

UPDATE: As we announced last month, Kenny Chesney is headed into the Times Union Center in Albany on Thursday, April 23. Chase Rice is slated to open. The TU Center has confirmed the date, and tickets are slated to go on sale at 10am on Friday, February 13, priced at $32, $45 & $79.

Detroit horrorcore hip-hip duo Twiztid blows into the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park on Friday the 13th of March. Special guests Blaze and Thira open the show at 8pm. Tickets are on sale now – $20 in advance; $22 at the door. Also at UCH, In Flames and All That Remains are slated to make a tour stop on Sunday, May 10. Ticket info TBA. Wait, there’s one more new one from UCH – Tech N9ne’s Special Effects Tour touches down in Clifton Park on Friday, May 22 with special guests Chris Webby, Krizz Kaliko and MURS, Flint, Michigan’s King 810 and Jamaican rap-phenom, ZUSE. Tickets are $22.50 in advance; $25 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Los Lobos are headed into Levon Helm’s Barn in Woodstock. Tickets are on sale now.

SOLD OUT: Hannibal Buress’ stand-up comedy show at The Egg in Albany on Thursday (February 5) is now officially sold out.

The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock celebrates Bob Marley’s 70th birthday at 8pm on Saturday (February 7) with performances by Ansel Meditations, Liviti and DJ Sarah Queen Tubby. Proceeds will be donated to the Bob Marley School in St. Ann, Jamaica. 8pm dance party; 9pm live music. Reserved tickets are $35 & $40. General admission tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door. Also at Bearsville, it’s the 420 Funk Mob Super Meltdown TripFest at 4:20pm on Sunday, February 22, featuring the 420 Funk Mob/Rx & Secret Army with special guests. All tickets are general admission, priced at $25.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The full line-up of performers for this summer’s A Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain has been announced – including headliners Toby Keith, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban, as well as Billy Currington, the Eli Young Band, Jerrod Niemann, Sara Evans, Easton Corbin, Chase Bryant, Colt Ford, the Josh Abbott Band, Tracy Lawrence, LoCash, Logan Mize, Western Underground, Rachel Lipsky, Sasha McVeigh, Jackson Michelson and Annie Bosko.

Tribute band the Spirit of Johnny Cash – featuring Harold Ford and Laura Lucy – play a benefit concert for the Saratoga Country Rural Preservation Company/VetHelp at the Saratoga Music Hall in Saratoga Springs at 7pm on Saturday, February 28. All tickets are general admission and are currently available for $25 at Saratoga Guitar and online.

CANCELLED: Tuesday’s (February 10) sold-out Michael Franti concert at The Egg in Albany was initially announced as postponed, but it has since been re-classified as cancelled. Ticket refunds are available at the place of purchase.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Australian contemporary Christian rockers the Newsboys team up with Audio Adrenaline to bring their We Believe… God’s Not Dead Tour to Albany’s Palace Theatre with Finding Favour and John Tibbs opening the show.

OPENERS: Jacquie Lee and Anjali have been announced as the support acts for the Kalin & Myles concert at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 7pm on Tuesday, March 24… In support of her sophomore album, Neuroplasticity, Canadian singer-songwriter Cold Specks will be the opener for the Sufjan Stevens concert at the Palace Theatre at 8pm on Wednesday, April 15.
