READING: Poets Speak Loud @ McGeary’s Pub, Albany. Dan Wilcox hosts the tenth anniversary of Poets Speak Loud, which also serves as the annual tribute to the late Tom Nattell – Albany poet, activist and poet-activist. Sign-up at 7pm. $3. The evening will be begin at 6pm with the traditional Beret Toss at the Robert Burns statue in Washington Park.

MUSIC: S.S. Web @ the Low Beat, Albany. The Milwaukee-based washboard-guitar-mandolin trio pummels their way through land-locked sea shanties and more. With the Savage Randys and Henry’s Rifle. 8pm.

THEATER/FUNDRAISER: “The Accident” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. Bob Goepfert of The Troy Record directs a staged reading of Lydia Strike’s play featuring WNYT-TV’s Benita Zahn and Jim Kambrich in a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. 7:30pm. $30 includes post-show dessert & champagne reception.

FILM: “Intolerance” @ Proctors, Schenectady. Director D.W. Griffith’s epic silent film accompanied by Goldie the Wurlitzer Organ, played by Avery Tunningley. 3 & 7pm. $5.

READING: “As the Light Returns” @ the Arts Center of the Capital Region, Troy. The Bookmarks Reading Series launches into 2015 with a program curated by Daniel New. 7pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Sandy and Sandy @ the Lion’s Den at the Red Lion Inn, Stockbridge. Local musicians playing a variety of old time, original country and folk music. 8pm. FREE.
