Win FREE Tickets to Dale Watson at The Hangar on Wednesday

January 23rd, 2015, 12:00 pm by Greg

Texas singer-songwriter and quintessential honky-tonker Dale Watson is so sick and tired of the contemporary country music scene that he refuses to describe his own music as “country,” even though he has deeper country music roots than anybody on the current country music Top 40.

Resolutely old-school, he prefers the term “Ameripolitan” for his music, and in fact he’s helped organize the Ameripolitan Music Awards – to be held next month in his Austin hometown – honoring those whose music honors tradition while demonstrating exceptional originality, creativity, and musicianship.

But before then, Watson and his band, the Lonestars, are headed into The Hangar in Troy for a rollickin’ roadhouse, kick-up-your-heels show at 8pm on Wednesday (January 28) in support of his latest release, the acclaimed three-CD set, The Truckin Sessions Trilogy. And if that ain’t enough to get you salivatin’, the tattooed country music maverick will be bringing along the like-minded rockabilly filly Rosie Flores – who won top honors as both Best Honky Tonk Female and Best Rockabilly Female at last year’s inaigural Ameripolitan Music Awards – to share the bill with him on Wednesday.

Tickets are $25, which are available in advance online and at the Ale House in Troy.

BUT WAIT… We’re giving away a pair of FREE TICKETS to the show. To enter, just post a comment below. Please leave your email address, too. We won’t publish it, but we’ll use it to contact you if you win. The deadline to enter is 12noon on Tuesday (January 27), and the winner will be selected at random and notified on Tuesday afternoon. Don’t delay, enter today! And good luck! Congratulations to the winner, who has been notified by email.
