I could have kept going with no room for John Hiatt, Pat Metheny, Arlo Guthrie, Sarah Jarosz, Diana Ross, Jerry Douglas, Young Kim, Findley Cockrell, Regina Carter, etc… Didn’t want you think I wasn’t using a little restraint.

I love Steve Nover, but how these folks can keep having something above King Crimson on their live list baffles me. Were we even at the same show?

  2. Rudy says:

I am glad you have restrained yourself. :-)

  3. Dave Farison says:

wow – I was able to join you at about 10 of these. A dozen more that I should have seen. I’m thinking trombone Shorty at the Egg or Vintage Trouble at the Hollow might have been my #1, but King Crimson & Trower were also great shows.

  4. Steve is the people’s reviewer. He makes me so sad at all the great shows I missed. But I did get to join him for Oumar Konate, Trombone Shorty and Steve Miller, among others, so there’s some great memories, too. ROCK ON Steve!

Nover’s Top 51 concerts: and that just covers January 2014.

  6. Mark says:

And he had time to play some bongos, too! Wow!

enjoyed the comments….not an exact science & a different day would probably have another order-already sorry Johnny Marr isn’t higher…….also clubs I got a ticket the night of the show made it hard for me to remember all; since I went through my saved tickets…realized I forgot FISHBONE’s great show at Putman den…6/24….as for Mike-so glad I bought tickets for both King Crimson nights but feel # 4 was about right since McCartney was fantastic; had never seen him perform & his energy, the drama of cancelling the tour for over a month & starting here in Albany along w/ the music songs & the sheer emotionality knocked me out. Putting a 2 day festival (or even 1) at # 2 might be suspect but there’s something about a fest that makes it organically whole. I had never seen Rod Stewart & thought it might be anti-climactic after Santana but w/ wonderful pacing he like Paul belied his age & gave a concert so much better than my expectations, that was truly memorable

I also left off the underrated Garland Jeffreys who gave a moving, heartfelt performance at The Linda on 1/24

  9. Harry Palmer says:

    Steve Nover smokes good weed!.
