Nippertown Musicians Nominated for Blues Music Awards

The Memphis-based Blues Foundation has announced the nominations for the 36th annual Blues Music Awards, the highest accolade afforded blues music performers.

A number of blues musicians from Greater Nippertown have been honored with nominations, including Chatham’s Rory Block and Utica-area guitarslinger Joe Bonamassa (who plays at the Palace Theatre on Monday, January 19).

Two nominees hail from the Woodstock area, including blues belter Alexis P. Suter (who plays at the Falcon in Marlboro on Sunday, January 11) and organist Bruce Katz (who brings his trio to Club Helsinki in Hudson on Saturday, December 27 to celebrate the release of his new album, Homecoming).

Winners will be announced during the ceremonies at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis on Thursday, May 7.
