MUSIC: The Jayhawks @ The Egg, Albany. Touring with their 1997 touring lineup – Gary Louris, Marc Perlman, Tim O’Reagan, Karen Grotberg and Kraig Johnson – the Jayhawks will be playing selected material from the band’s long history as one of America’s finest alternative country rock bands. Trapper Schoepp will open the show. 7:30pm. $34.50.

MUSIC: Rockapella @ Proctors, Schenectady. Led by founder Scott Leonard, the veteran contemporary a cappella quintet lands in the Electric City in support of their latest album, Motown & More. 8pm. $20-$40.

MUSIC: John Davidson @ Firefly Restaurant, Lenox. Broadway. “Hollywood Squares.” “That’s Incredible.” He also hosted the nationally syndicated “The John Davidson Show” from 1980-1982 and served as guest host on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” 87 times. Yup, that John Davidson, who has recently relocated to Lenox. 8pm. $7.

MUSIC: Taina Asili & Gaetano Vaccaro @ Hudson Valley Community College’s Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium, Troy. Puerto Rican vocalist Taina Asili and Sicilian guitarist Gaetano Vaccaro perform an energetic fusion of old and new reggae, rock, Afro-Latin and related musical styles with an underlying theme of social change. 12noon. FREE.

MUSIC: Zendaya & Bridgit Mendler @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. Disney teen popsters. 7pm. $35, $40, $45, $55 & $75.

PERFORMANCE: “,000,” @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. “,000,” – yes, that’s the title, not a typo – is an EMPAC-commissioned multimedia artwork by Canadian artist Isabelle Pauwels. Layering sculpture, light, audio, and video, the performance guides the audience through the story of two entwined characters: a dying rust-belt town unable to let go of nostalgia for the “old days,” and a small-time actress struggling against the indignities of the film industry while making ends meet as a part-time dominatrix. 7:30pm. $18; $13 students & seniors.

MUSIC: Ben Seretan @ the Spotty Dog, Hudson. If heaven exists, Ben Seretan wants to find it with delay pedals and join the chorus of angels. Long, swirling clouds of tones met with cascading waterfall plucks of electric guitar joined together by a honeyed singing voice and a deep appreciation of tenderness. FILM: “20,000 Days on Earth” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. Drama and reality combine in Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s 2014 film covering a fictitious 24 hours in the life of musician and cultural icon Nick Cave, with startlingly frank insights and an intimate portrayal of the artistic process. 7:45pm.

MUSIC: Jeffrey Swann @ Williams College’s Chapin Hall, Williamstown. For his program, “1914: The World on the Brink of the Abyss,” the pianist performs Leos Janácek’s “In the Mist”; Sergey Prokofiev’s “Sarcasms”; Alexander Scriabin’s Sonata No. 9, op. 67 (“Black Mass”); and Charles Ives’ Sonata No. 2, “Concord, Mass. 1840-60.” 8pm. THEATER: “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus” @ the Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. The one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up stars Peter Story and is based on the New York Times No. 1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray. 8pm. $54.
