MUSIC: Eric Harland’s Voyager @ Skidmore College’s Zankel Music Center, Saratoga Springs. Master jazz drummer and multi-Grammy nominee Eric Harland has been recognized in The Boston Globe, The New York Times, JazzTimes, The New Yorker and other prominent publications for his undeniable skill as a jazz drummer. He brings his widely recognized group Voyager to perform on the Zankel stage for the first time. 8pm. $8; $5 seniors; FREE students and children.

MUSIC: Marco Benevento @ BSP Lounge, Kingston. The keyboard maestro churns out pulsating dance-rock energy in concert, whether he’s playing Carnegie Hall, Bonnaroo or the Newport Jazz Festival. Now he brings his band – bassist Dave Dreiwitz and drummer Andy Borger – to the BSP to celebrate the release of his new album Swift. 11pm. $15.

MUSIC: The George Garzone Quartet @ Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady’s Whisperdome, Schenectady. A Place for Jazz’s concert series continues with the Boston-based tenor saxman and his band. 7:30pm. $15; $7 students; FREE children under 12.

MUSIC: Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. For the last quarter-century, Rockabilly Hall of Famers have mined the corners of pre- and early- rock ‘n’ roll influences, including Western swing, honkytonk, doo-wop, and country boogie. Hearing Big Sandy instantly puts a listener in mind of early greats like Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Buck Owens, Chuck Berry, and, of course, Elvis Presley. Take a trip back to a more innocent time with these ever-joyful roots-rockers. 9pm.

MUSIC: The Chronicles @ the Albany Barn, Albany. Trombonist Bryan Brundige and saxman Jeff Nania lead the Chronicles in their fifth anniversary celebration. With Atlas Gray and Suitable Groove. And special guests throughout the night. 6pm. $10.

MUSIC: Kip Moore @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. Following last night’s sold-out tour launch at NYC’s Best Buy Theatre, the CMT Up in Smoke Tour lands in Nippertown with Kip Moore in support of his new live EP, Soundcheck. With special guests Charlie Worsham and Sam Hunt. 8pm. $27 & $30.

THEATER: “A Couple of Blaguards” @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. An Irish comedy, Frank and Malachy McCourt’s two-character play is a boisterous barroom autobiography full of humor, poignancy and insight. “Sanford and Son” regular Howard Platt directs and stars, while Jarlath Conroy also stars. 7:30pm. $20, $30 & $45.

MUSIC: The Christine Spero Group @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. Jazz keyboardist Christine Spero and her band pay tribute to the late great singer-songwriter Laura Nyro with selections from their upcoming album, Spero Plays Nyro. 9pm. $25.

THEATER: “Character Man” @ Barrington Stage Co., Pittsfield. Drama Desk Award-winner Jim Brochu stars in a salute to the memorable character actors of Broadway, filled with hilarious backstage stories and touching personal recollections about Zero Mostel, Jack Gilford, Charles Nelson Riley, Jackie Gleason and more.
