MUSIC: The Bots @ the Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Albany. Los Angeles-based brothers Mikaiah Lei (vocals, guitar, bass) and Anaiah Lei (drums, vocals) crank it out garage-stylee inn advance of their upcoming album, Pink Palms. 7pm. $1.02.

MUSIC: King Crimson @ The Egg, Albany. The prog rock kingpins kick off their reunion tour with a two-night stand at The Egg. This is a very different reformation to what has gone before: seven players, four English and three American, with three drummers – Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Pat Mastelotto, along with Tony Levin (bass and vocals), Mel Collins (sax, flute), Jakko Jakszyk (guitar, vocals) and, of course, Mr. Robert Fripp (guitar). 7:30pm. $36.75–$43.75. MUSIC/ART: September in the City Art Fair @ Tricentennial Park, Albany. With music by Vermont-based bluegrass band the Bondville Boys, boasting an eclectic setlist that ranges from Flatt & Scruggs to Blondie. 11:30am-2pm. FREE.

MUSIC ON FILM: “Duran Duran Unstaged” @ the Spectrum 8 Theatres, Albany. Duran Duran meets David Lynch? Oh yeah. A one-night-only screening of the band playing 18 of their hits, directed by Lynch. With special guests Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, the Gossip’s Beth Ditto, Mark Ronson and Kelis. 7pm. $12.50.

TALK: “To Everything There Is a Season: Pete Seeger and the Power of Song” @ Skidmore College’s Davis Auditorium, Saratoga Springs. A talk by Allan Winkler, the acclaimed Miami University professor and author of the Oxford University Press book that gives this lecture its title. 6:30pm. FREE.
