Festival Fever: Camp Creek @ Indian Lookout Country Club, 8/22-24/14

Camp Creek, the music and camping festival which called Mariaville’s Indian Lookout Country Club home from 1994-2008, returns to the venue once again this weekend Friday-Sunday, August 22-24). Founded by and featuring the long-running pioneering jam band Max Creek, the event will feature three days and two nights of music and camping.

Camp Creek has long enjoyed a reputation as a proving ground for emerging talent, and this year is no different. Eastbound Jesus, a young bluegrass/rock band from Greenwich, will be among the featured performers on Friday night (August 22). The Funky Dawgz Brass Band (who met in the UConn marching band), Blessed and Gifted (recent winners of the StrangeCreek Battle of the Bands), Brett Wilson (of Roots of Creation) and Casey Bloom round out the Friday bill.

And, of course, Camp Creek will also feature long sets by Max Creek on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Several Camp Creek veterans will also join in the festivities, including Ryan Montbleau, Midnight Sun, Flipper Dave, Fungus Amungus, SpiTune, Hot Acoustics, Matt Zeiner and the Kind Buds.

Gates open at 9am Friday, August 22, and music goes through Sunday evening, with campgrounds clearing by dark. All-fest tickets are $80 in advance; $100 at the gate. Single day tickets for Sunday only will also be available at the gate.
