Barrage of the Best Bluegrass Is Headed Our Way

The nominees for the 2014 International Bluegrass Music Association Awards have been announced, and once again Nippertown’s own Gibson Brothers – currently the reigning IBMA Entertainers of the Year – have snagged multiple nominations.

Led by brothers Leigh and Eric Gibson, the Gibson Brothers earned nods for Vocal Group of the Year, as well as Entertainers of the Year.

Also earning a nomination for the Bluegrass Event of the Year honor is FreshGrass 2013, last year’s third annual bluegrass-and-beyond fest at MASS MoCA in North Adams.

And if that’s not enough local recognition, Woodstock’s veteran banjo master Bill Keith will be honored with one of only five Distinguished Achievement Awards to be handed out at the IBMA Awards ceremony in Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday, October 2.

Lots of other nominees will be stepping into the spotlight at Nippertown stages in the upcoming months, and here’s where you can find some of them:
