Yes, every once in a long while, the Rockin’ On the River concert series veers off the path dedicated to tribute-bands-and-nothing-but-tribute-bands to showcase some of the Local 518’s finest – bands that actually play their own music.
That certainly was the case earlier this month when two of Nippertown’s hardest rockin’ trios – Super 400 and Wild Adriatic – teamed up for a dynamic double bill in the Troy’s Green Island Bridge parking lot earlier this month.
Rockin’ On the River returns to its never-ending tribute band theme tonight when ZBTB (Zac Brown Tribute Band) cranks up the contemporary country sounds. Local 518 singer-songwriter Molly Durnin opens the show at 5pm.
Go can also catch Wild Adriatic again in concert at Albany’s Alive at Five show at Jennings Landing at 5pm on Thursday, July 31, opening for the current incarnation of Grand Funk Railroad. And while Super 400 doesn’t have any upcoming local shows on their calendar, if you stop by Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Troy on Friday or McGeary’s Pub in Albany on Saturday to see the Midnight Riders, you just might see a few familiar faces.
