On a recent Saturday, a group of us went on a travel adventure. Last year, I had as similar day trip to Hudson, but this was better planned and had more going for it. For All Over Albany’s Rail, River, Hudson Tour, there were enough folks to pack both buses from Albany to the Rensselaer train station. The group was orderly packed in the train, too, and had a nice day to go south to Hudson.
The first stop on the itinerary was vodka tasting and a building tour of Club Helsinki, which was good, as it got you in the center of the city. There was plenty of time to do a little exploring, and I went grazin’ for lunch. Besides all the art galleries and various other stores, there was also a parade down Warren Street that day. And there was a closing reception at the Etsy building, where there was fine food and beer to be had.
By the docks, there was some local wine to be had, and it made it worth the wait to get on the boat. It was a great day for a boat ride back to Albany, as there was an orange sun and moon. The acoustic guitar instrumental duo Rosary Beard performed on the boat, and there were some great desserts, too.
A fine afternoon well spent…
