THEATER: “Carousel” @ Glimmerglass Opera, Cooperstown. It’s opening night! This year’s American musical at Glimmerglass is the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic that Time magazine called “best musical of the 20th century.” Conducted by Doug Peck and directed by Charles Newell, it tells the story of a carousel barker’s struggles to rise above challenging circumstances. 8pm. $26, $70, $95, $122 & $144; $10, $15, $20 & $25 youth 18 & under.
