A Day To Remember: September 8 @ The Washington Avenue Armory

A Day to Remember hope to make Monday, September 8 a day to remember for their Nippertown fans. That’s the date for the band’s tour stop at Albany’s Washington Avenue Armory. The concert kicks off at 6:30pm with Chiodos and Bring Me the Horizon. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (June 13) priced at $39.50 in advance; $45 at the door on the day of the show.

UPDATE: Due to ongoing recovery from his recent illness, Paul McCartney has postponed all of the June dates of his upcoming U.S. tour. But at least at the moment, his Albany concert at the Times Union Center is still slated to take place as scheduled on Saturday, July 5. And that show will now be the first date of the tour…

The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park has added a batch of new shows to its concert calendar including Chevelle with Middle Class Rut at 8pm on Friday, September 5 ($25 in advance; $27 at the door); You Me at Six with Stars in Stereo and Young Guns at 8pm on Saturday, October 25 ($15 in advance; $17 at the door); and Black Veil Brides at 7pm on Friday, November 28 ($25 in advance; $29 at the door). Tickets for all three new shows go on sale at 10am on Friday (June 13). And Arch Enemy will headline a show at UCH at 6:30pm on Sunday, October 26 with Kreator, Huntress and Starkill in the support slots. Tickets for that show go on sale on Friday, June 20, priced at $20 in advance; $23 at the door.

UPDATE: Thursday’s (June 12) Alive at Five – the first one of the summer, featuring Fitz & the Tantrums with the Features – has been moved from Jennings Landing to the rain location under the I-787 overpass at the Corning Boat Launch. Showtime is 5pm and admission is free.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall announced a couple of very tasty acoustic duo concerts – mandolin master Chris Thile with bassist-composer Edgar Meyer and the husband-and-wife dueling banjos duo of Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday (June 16).

Arlo Guthrie celebrates the centennial of his famous father’s birth with a solo tribute to Woody Guthrie at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington at 8pm on Saturday, November 22. Tickets are $25, $49 & $64.

Outta Southern California, Grizfolk plays at the Low Beat in Albany on Tuesday, July 8, in celebration of WEXT-FM’s seventh anniversary. Party Boat will open the show. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (June 13), and the first 97 people to buy will be able to get tickets for $0.97 then remainder of the tickets will be $9.77.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Storm King Arts Center in New Windsor is hosting its inaugural Outdoor Music Series, featuring upcoming performances by the Baseball Project, Happiness, the Felice Brothers and Steve Gunn.

In celebration of his 55th year in the priesthood, Father Peter Young’s Saratoga Gala will be held at the Saratoga National Golf Club at 6pm on Monday, July 14, featuring music by the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Tickets are $100; $50 age 35 and under.
