From the days of the old Starlite Music Theatre to a more recent headlining performance at LarkFest, Grammy-nominated British singer-songwriter Karl Wallinger (formerly of the Waterboys) and his band have churned their way through an impressive catalog of thinking-man’s pop-rock. MUSIC: The Head & the Heart @ the Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. The Seattle-based indie folk-rockers return to Nippertown in support of the sophomore Sub Pop album, Let’s Be Still. With Elliott Brood. 8pm. $28.

MUSIC: The Howlin’ Brothers @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. If you missed ‘em at The Linda on Friday, you’ve got another chance as the Americana string band trio steps into the spotlight in Woodstock in support of their brand new sophomore album, Trouble. 8pm. $10.

MUSIC: Ramblin’ Dan Stevens @ Lion’s Den, Stockbridge. Performing a mix of traditional blues, Americana and originals on his cigar-box guitar and diddly-bow, as well as more traditional instruments. 8pm. FREE.
