MUSIC: Mary Fahl @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Former lead singer of the art-rock band October Project, she has pursued a solo career for the past 10-plus years. Now she’s celebrating the release of her elegant new CD, Love and Gravity, which ranges from “Exiles” (a song written for Anne Rice’s new audiobook “The Wolves of Midwinter”) and a stunning cover of Joni Mitchell’s classic “Both Sides Now.” 8pm. $24.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: Bob Dylan Birthday Celebration @ Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. A benefit for Family of Woodstock’s Crisis Hotline and John Herald Fund, the sixth annual Dylan celebration features Happy Traum, Donald Fagen, Don Byron, Sarah Fimm, the Paul Green Rock Academy, Jonathan & Grasshopper (of Mercury Rev), Connor Kennedy, Charles Lyonhart with George Quinn, Jerry Marotta, the Duke McVinnie Band, Tim Moore, Scott Petito, Jules Shear, Sin City, Adrienne Reju, the Saturday Night Bluegrass Band and more – all performing songs from Dylan’s vast songbag. 8pm. $25 & $45.

MUSIC: Jack Johnson @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. He was there at Farm Aid to close out the 2013 SPAC summer concert season, and now he’s back to kick off SPAC’s 2014 season. With Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. 7:30pm. $64.50; $34.50 lawn.

MUSIC: Jesse Legé & Bayou Brew @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. One of the finest Cajun accordionist-vocalists from Southwest Louisiana, Lege and his band whip up an old-fashioned fais do do. 7pm. $25 (includes Cajun pulled pork sliders and cole slaw.

MUSIC: The Scotty Mac & Mark Emanatian Blues Revue @ McGeary’s Pub, Albany. Two of Nippertown’s finest guitarslingers lead the band – also featuring Tom Dolan and Charlie Clifford – through a blues-based tribute to the music of Bob Dylan. 8pm.

READING/MUSIC: “Cabinet of Wonderkids” @ the Spotty Dog, Hudson. Author and musician Wesley Stace (aka John Wesley Harding) reads from his new rock novel “Wonderkid” in addition to hosting readings and performances by authors David Grand and Emma Jane Tourtelot, singer-songwriter Amy Rigby and a reading/sound performance by Karen Schoemer with Tyson Hauf. 8pm. $5 suggested donation. THEATER: “The God Game” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. It’s the world premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer’s powerful, three-character play that tackles the topics of religion and politics head-on.
