MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: The Union College Student Jazz Ensemble @ Arthur’s Market, Schenectady. Big band jazz under the direction of Tim Olsen. With a fine arts silent auction.

MUSIC: Chatham County Line @ the Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton. The North Carolina-based bluegrass band rolls into Northampton for a CD release party for their brand-spankin’ new album, Tightrope, released just yesterday on Yep Roc Records. With Bright Lines. 7pm. $15.

MUSIC: Donald Harrison’s Berklee Quintet @ the Falcon, Marlboro. Alto saxophonist Harrison – a 1981 Berklee alumnus, a New Orleans-born traditionalist, a modern jazz trendsetter, a former Jazz Messenger, a nurturer of young talent, a composer and a bandleader – leads a band featuring Berklee faculty member Jim Odgren and Berklee students. 7pm. THEATER: “The God Game” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. It’s the world premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer’s powerful, three-character play that tackles the topics of religion and politics head-on.
