MUSIC: The Glenn Miller Orchestra @ the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Despite the fact that bandleader Glenn Miller disappeared over the English Channel 70 years ago, such classics as “In the Mood,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “A String of Pearls,” “Moonlight Serenade” and “Tuxedo Junction” just keep choodling along. 8pm. $20, $28 & $34.

MUSIC: The Mavericks @ the Calvin Theatre, Northampton. Although they’ve racked up country music hits, these guys are way more than just a country band. And Raul Malo is simply one of the finest singers around today – of any genre. 8pm. $29.50 & $39.50.

THEATER: “The God Game” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. It’s the world premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer’s powerful, three-character play that tackles the topics of religion and politics head-on. The bold, thought-provoking play is directed by Kristin Coury and stars Yvonne Perry, Laurence Lau and Jeffrey Binder. 7:30pm. $20, $40 & $50. Through May 25.

MUSIC: Moon Magick @ the Low Beat, Albany. Electronic dream-pop from Phil Pascuzzo and Laura Harris. With Man Forever and Eternal Crimes. 8pm.

MUSIC: Sharon Van Etten @ the Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton. The first date of the tour for her upcoming album, Are We There, the follow-up to her exquisite Tramp. With She Keeps Bees. 7pm. $15.

THEATER: “Flashdance: The Musical” @ Proctors, Schenectady. It’s the 30th anniversary of the film, and now it’s live on stage – the tale of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a bar dancer by night with dreams of one day making it big. 1:30 & 8pm. $20, $35, $50, $60 & $70. MUSIC: Capital Underground Live @ Bombers, Troy. Ralph Renna hosts an evening of Local 518 talent featuring music from lastdayshining, White Noise Radio and Zachary Edwards, as well as comedy by Seth Carr. 8pm. FREE.

MUSIC: Seether @ Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. With Black Stone Cherry and SuperMachine. 8pm. $28.

THEATER: “Little Shop of Horrors” @ Cohoes Music Hall, Cohoes. It’s opening night. 8pm.

MUSIC: Kendra Shank & John Stowell @ the Falcon, Marlboro. The folkie-turned-jazz singer Kendra Shank teams up with jazz guitarist John Stowell for their exquisite new album, New York Conversations. 7:30pm. $20 suggested donation.

MUSIC: Frenchy & the Punk @ BSP Lounge, Kingston. A sultry French-born singer-percussionist and a fiery punk rock guitarist from the golden days of the hardcore scene. With the Nathaniel Johnstone Band. 9pm. $6.

FILM: “Finding Vivian Maier” @ Time + Space Limited, Hudson. An intriguing documentary about the discovery of the work of an unknown street photographer who secretly took more than 100,000 photographs that were hidden in storage lockers and discovered decades later. 7:45pm.
