The Chain Gang of 1974 has cancelled their upcoming performance at the Albany Tulip Fest. The band was originally slated to kick off the free musical festivities on the Main Stage of Washington Park’s Parade Grounds at 1:15pm on Saturday, May 10.
The following statement is from the band’s founder, Kamtin Mohager:
“Within the seven years of being in this band, canceling shows has been something I never do. Unfortunately, circumstances completely out of our control have come to light that will prevent us from performing at Tulip Fest 2014. On behalf of everyone on our team, I’d like to express my whole hearted appreciation, thanks, and most importantly, sincere apology to WEQX for having to cancel our performance. We hope we can make it up to everybody in the very near future.”
And now for the good news: a replacement band has already been booked. NYC-based indie synth-popsters Panama Wedding – who played the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany just last month opening for Dan Croll – will take over the 1:15pm Saturday slot for the festival.
