Noise Annoys: Albany’s New Record Store

Chris Lawrence of Loud Punk Records is bucking the current business models and throwing it all behind his passion. He’s opening a new brick-and-mortar record store in Albany. And if the old adage, “Location, location, location” holds true, he just might make it work, too. His new store Noise Annoys Record Shop is located at 114C Quail Street in Albany – right around the corner from Pauly’s Hotel, the Low Beat, WAMC-FM and The Linda Performing Arts Studio.

Lawrence promises that the shop is stocking thousands of new and used records – rock, punk, metal, reggae and more. Regular hours will be 11am-7pm on Tuesday-Saturday; 12noon-6pm on Sunday.

Noise Annoys will celebrate its grand opening this Saturday (May 3), unlocking its doors at 10am, and providing plenty of free giveaways while supplies last. But the grand opening celebration doesn’t stop when the doors close at 8pm on Saturday, either. Instead, the party moves around the corner to the Low Beat for a triple-bill bash featuring the Epidemic, Scuzz and Wet Dreams beginning at 8pm. Admission to the Low Beat is FREE if you show a Noise Annoys receipt at the door; otherwise, it’s $6.
