Hump Day Unusual Moment

Today’s Hump Day Unusual Moment is a Throwback Wednesday clip of proto-garage rockers the Standells rippin’ it up on the fab ’60s TV show, “The Munsters.” Much to everyone’s surprise, the band is not performing their big hit, the classic Boston ode “Dirty Water,” but rather some little ditty called “Do the Ringo” followed by a cover of the Beatles’ “I Wanna Hold Your Hand.”

So if you’re headed over to the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton on Sunday evening (May 4) to see the Standells – still led by founding member Larry Tamblyn (vocals/keyboards) – in concert, ask ’em to play “Do the Ringo.” Chandler Travis’ Catbirds open the show at 7pm, and tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door.

No disrespect to The Standells, but if that show at the Iron Horse was an old fashioned 60’s Battle Of The Bands, i’d put my money on The Catbirds! Don’t miss ’em!
