Earlier this month UAlbany radio station WCDB-FM threw themselves a birthday party that was so big that it took two venues – the Low Beat and Pauly’s Hotel, adjacent clubs on Albany’s Central Avenue – to contain all the fun.
And as Howe Glassman, owner of the Low Beat explains, “We had such a blast partnering up with our next door neighbor Pauly’s Hotel to help present WCDB’s 36th Anniversary party that we thought, ‘Hey, why not try this again?’ So we are.”
Pauly’s Hotel and the Low Beat will be co-hosting Down On the Corner #1, another fab night of co-mingling musical merriment, on Saturday, April 26. Your $7 ticket gains you admission to both nightspots all night long, and the seven-band schedule is staggered so you can catch all of the action as you bounce back-and-forth between the clubs throughout the night.
Here’s the schedule of bands for Down On the Corner #1:
7:30pm: Chloroform Party @ the Low Beat
8:15pm: MR Poulopoulos @ Pauly’s Hotel
9pm: UnEvEn StEvEn @ the Low Beat
