April 21st, 2014, 12:00 pm by Greg

With their genre-bending blend of funk, jazz, trance, soul, Afro-beat and prog rock, the Brooklyn-based Dopapod has been touring nationally playing 150-plus shows a year for the last three years. Their rigorous tour schedule has seen the young, yet seasoned group make appearances at numerous festivals including Gathering of the Vibes, Camp Bisco, Electric Forest, Summer Camp, Peach Fest, Burning Man, Bear Creek, Catskill Chill and more. And along the way, their electrifying live showcase has been cultivating a fast-growing and loyal fan base.

In support of their third studio album, Redivider, Dopapod’s current road trip finds the band making a stop at Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs on Thursday (April 24). And opening the show is the fast-rising, funk-tastic groove/rockin’ band Aqueous. Showtime is 9:30pm, and tickets are $12 in advance; $15 at the door; with an additional $5 surcharge at the door if under 21.

I’ve seen aqueous at red square and they were fun. Somehow I’ve missed dopapod thus far, but they would be cool to see live.

Would be a great opportunity to see both these bands (who I have heard a lot about) live – and a great excuse to get up to enjoy springtime in Saratoga
