Mr. Finn’s Cabaret at Barrington Stage expands to host 16 events and reserved seating for 2014 [Berkshire on Stage]

Mr. Finn's Cabaret

by Larry Murray

Mr. Finn’s Cabaret is one of those little known places where I head when friends visit from out of town. It specializes in the more artistic side of music, the cabaret, jazz and original music you don’t hear live very often.

The 99 seat club is now beginning its third season, and Barrington Stage has planned an eclectic array of performers who will appear from May through October as part of that Company’s 20th year. Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson announced an interesting calendar of performers and music styles for this popular spot, located on the lower level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield.

Named for William Finn, the two-time Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist of Falsettos and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Artistic Producer of BSC’s Musical Theatre Lab, the intimate space is loved by those who enjoy seeing performers up close and personal making great music that draws from the classics and the contemporary.
