MUSIC: Goo Goo Dolls @ The Egg’s Hart Theatre, Albany. The Buffalo-bred Goo Goos bring their spring acoustic tour (dubbed “The Otis Midnight Sessions”) to The Egg tonight, before returning to Nippertown with their full-blown rock show at SPAC later this summer. With Los Angeles band Run River North. 8pm. $59.50. UPDATE: This show is officially sold out… again.

MUSIC: Feist @ the Calvin Theatre, Northampton. The Canadian indie queen brings her solo Mettle Tour to town. With Kevin Drew (of the Broken Social Scene). 8pm. $25, $35 & $45.

MUSIC: Man Forever @ the Half Moon, Hudson. Led by Brooklyn-based instrumentalist John Colpitts (aka Kid Millions of Oneida), Man Forever explores the outer limits of drum performance. 8pm.

TALK: “Arun Chaudhary: Behind-the-Camera at the White House” @ Skidmore College’s Gannett Auditorium, Saratoga Springs. A talk by the first official White House videographer, a position created for him at the beginning of the Obama administration. Chaudhary travelled extensively with the president, capturing public events and behind-the-scenes moments and producing presidential tapings for the internet and television. 7pm.

MUSIC: Rhett Miller @ the Falcon, Marlboro. In addition to being the front man and main songwriter of the hard-charging rock ‘n’ roll quartet the Old 97’s, Miller is also an accomplished solo artist. With Ryan Dieringer. 7pm. Donations encouraged.

MUSIC: Jon Anderson @ the Bearsville Theater, Woodstock. The long-time voice of prog-rock pioneers Yes performs with members of the Paul Green Rock Academy. 8pm. $35, $55, $99 & $150.

MUSIC: “The Songs of John Harbison” @ Williams College’s Brooks-Rodgers Recital Hall, Williamstown. A performance of the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer’s musical settings of poetry by Jessica Fisher, Elizabeth Bishop Louise Gl├╝ck and others. 7pm panel discussion; 8pm music. FREE.

THEATER: “Gypsy: A Musical Fable” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany.”Everything’s Coming Up Roses…” Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill directs the classic musical based on the memoirs of famed stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, featuring a cast of 23 from Broadway star Mary Callanan to local TV personality Benita Zahn. 7:30pm. $20-$65.
