Albany Tulip Fest Complete Line-Up of Bands Announced

The complete line-up of performances for the 66th Annual Albany Tulip Festival has been announced, and Albany’s Washington Park will be filled with flowers, people and fun from 11am-6pm on Saturday & Sunday, May 10 & 11. Of course, the fest also features two stages of non-stop music throughout the festival weekend.

And it’s all FREE…

ALBANY TULIP FESTIVAL 2014 PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

SATURDAY, MAY 10
MAIN STAGE
Washington Park Parade Grounds

1:15pm: THE CHAIN GANG OF 1974: The indie electronica project of California-based musician-DJ Kamtin Mohager. PANAMA WEDDING: New York City-based indie synth-popsters. UPDATE, 1pm 5/2: The Chain Gang of 1974 has cancelled their performance, and Panama Wedding has been announced as their replacement.

2:15pm: SLEEPER AGENT: Led by lead singer Alex Kandel, the Kentucky-based alt-rockers roll into town in support of their new album, About Last Night, which was released last month.

3:15pm: RUBBLEBUCKET: Trumpeter Alex Toth and vocalist-saxophonist Annakalmia Traver lead the Burlington-bred, Brooklyn-based band through the tulips in support of their latest EP release, Save Charlie.

4:30pm: MS MR: Vassar College alums Lizzy Plapinger (vocals) and Max Hershenow (keyboardist/producer) bring their alt-pop to the park in support of their major label debut album Secondhand Rapture. MIKE DOUGHTY: Singer-songwriter and former Soul Coughing frontman. UPDATE, 5pm, 5/9: MS MR have cancelled their performance, and Mike Doughty has been announced as their replacement.

Washington Park Lakehouse Amphitheatre

1pm: REBEL DARLING: The eloquent, soulful singer-songwriter M.R. Poulopoulos is joined by some of Nippertown’s finest roots musicians.

2:15pm: THE PARLOR: The always enchanting, inspiring, magical musical mission of folk-funksters Eric Krans, Jen O’Connor and friends.

3:30pm: ACCENTS: Atmospheric, anthemic indie-folk driven by lush harmonies and soaring guitars.

4:45pm: TITANICS: Organic and electronic sounds converging into ethereal, unforgettable sonic textures from the recent Metroland cover boys.

SUNDAY, MAY 11
MAIN STAGE

12:45pm: NICOLE VANESSA ORTIZ: A talented performer with a stunning voice, paying tribute to the music of Whitney Houston.

1:30pm: CAROLINE GLASER: St. Louis indie-folk singer-songwriter and popular contestant on NBC-TV’s “The Voice.”

2:45pm: GRAHAM TICHY: Leading a sensational trio, Troy’s fab guitarist distills the history of roots rockin’ – from swing to rockabilly to country and beyond – into every note.

4:15pm: EMERSON HART: The frontman of Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum alt-rock band Tonic and an acclaimed solo artist, Hart is a singer-songwriter with a gift for great melodies and lyrics.

LOCAL 518 AMP STAGE

1pm: THE KIMONO DRAGONS: Surf-fuzz supergroup featuring members of Local 518 fave Charmboy, Alta Mira and the Pistolwhips.

2:15pm: THE CHRONICLES: Stylistically combining jazz, hip-hop, funk, soul and gospel into a unique sound beyond genres.

3:30pm: THE NORTH & SOUTH DAKOTAS: Harmony-rich folk-rock in the spirit of classic American roots music.

4:45pm: THE LUCKY JUKEBOX BRIGADE: The horn-fueled, seven-piece indie cabaret-dance party powerhouse throws in down in support of their upcoming sophomore album.
