Wilco won’t be returning to MASS MoCA this summer, but Beck will be taking over the North Adams museum for a concert at 8pm on Tuesday, June 24. Yes, Beck is making only one tour stop in New England, and it’s at MASS MoCA.
In the 20 years since “Loser” hit the charts, Beck has become one of the most creative and idiosyncratic voices in contemporary music, mixing such influences as hip-hop, anti-folk and hi-fi funk into a sound completely his own. Two of his albums appear in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, four have hit platinum, and Morning Phase, released earlier this year and showcased on his recent “Saturday Night Live” appearance, is among his best.
Prices are still TBA, but Tickets are slated to go on sale at 12noon on Saturday (March 15) available only through the MASS MoCA box office. There is a strict limit of six tickets per order. UPDATE, 3/11/14, 8pm: All tickets are general admission, priced at $50 in advance; $54 at the door.
