IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Howe Glassman’s new nightspot the Low Beat opened its doors for the first time on Tuesday, and a bunch of bands from Session Americana to Maggot Brain to Blockhouses to Jonathan Richman are on the upcoming schedule of shows.

J. Cole has been announced as one of the headliners for UAlbany’s Parkfest 2014, which is slated to take place on campus at the SEFCU Arena at 7pm on Saturday, April 5. Additional artists and ticket details TBA. PS: Hey, anybody remember the days when Parkfest actually took place outside in a park?!?

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In support of their upcoming new album, Teeth Dreams, the Hold Steady are getting ready to take over the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany with Cheap Girls opening the show.

The Bearsville Theater in Woodstock will host a Mardi Gras dance/party/concert with Brother Joscephus & the Love Revolution from 4-7pm on Sunday, March 2. Admission is $15; $10 for ages 10-18; FREE for under 10. Admission is also free for horn players who bring their horns to join in the parade. Also in the Mardi Gras spirit, Connor Kennedy & Friends’ cover-to-cover concert series will perform the Meters’ classic album “Rejuvenation” at 9pm on Friday, March 7. Admission is a $20 suggested donation. And Jon Anderson – the former lead vocalist of prog-rock pioneers Yes – heads into the theater for a two-night stand at 8pm on Tuesday & Wednesday, April 8&9, performing with members of the Paul Green Rock Academy. Tickets are $35, $55, $99 & $150.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band will return to raise the roof of Albany’s Times Union Center once again. Tickets go on sale on Friday (February 14).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Motown diva Diana Ross will be returning to the spotlight at the Palace Theatre in Albany. Tickets go on sale on Friday (February 14).

Rusted Root headlines a special Valentine’s Day Winter Carnival concert at King Neptune’s Pub in Lake George on Friday (February 14). Alvarez Kings kick off the festivities at 6pm. Tickets are $20.

UPDATE: As we mentioned earlier this month, the ever-rollicking J.D. McPherson is scheduled to raise the roof at the Ale House in Troy for a two-stand at 8pm on Sunday & Monday, March 2&3. Tickets are now on sale, priced at $15.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience rumbles into the Palace Theatre in Albany. Tickets will go on sale on Friday (February 14).

Club Helsinki in Hudson is hosting a double-barreled CD release party at 9pm on Saturday, May 24 with the sublime Sarah Borges celebrating her new Radio Sweatheart, while co-headliners Guns, Girls & Glory commemorate the release of Good Luck. Ticket info TBA. Also, the Helsinki on Broadway cabaret series is heating up with upcoming performances by Terri White at 7pm on Sunday, June 29 ($50) and Linda Lavin at 8pm on Saturday, July 19 ($60).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Saratoga Performing Arts Center added a new concert by Lionel Richie with the always colorful CeeLo Green to its summer concert calendar. Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 21.

UPDATE: Proctors has released the ticket information for the Schenectady stop of John Legend’s All of Me Tour. Tickets go on sale on Monday (February 17), priced at $25, $45, $60, $70 & $85.

In conjunction with Saratoga Beer Week, Celtic rockers Black 47 are charging into the Saratoga City Center in Saratoga Springs at 7pm on Friday, February 22. Tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Led by the explosive Larry Kirwan, the band has announced that they will play their final shows before calling it quits in November – 25 years after their first show.

OPENERS: The Local 518′s Tor & the Fjords have been tapped as the opening act for British singer-songwriter Bobby Long at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Friday, February 21.

CANCELLED: Jeremy Spencer – a founding guitarist of Fleetwood Mac and a Rock & Roll Hall of Famers – was slated to embark on his first US tour since 1971, but unfortunately the entire tour – including his concert scheduled for Saturday, March 22 at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock – has been cancelled due to serious health issues. refunds are available at the place of purchase.

It’s Oh Canada Week at the Calvin Theatre in Northampton, where two of the finest singer-songwriters from the Great White North will step into the spotlight soon. In support of her latest album, Metals, Canadian singer-songwriter and member of Broken Social Scene, Feist brings her solo Mettle Tour to the Calvin at 8pm on Wednesday, April 9. Tickets are $25, $35 & $45. Then at 8pm on Sunday, July 13, the great Gordon Lightfoot brings his 50 Years On the Carefree Highway tour to the theater. (Hey, he’s got his own postage stamp!) Tickets are $35, $45 & $55. Tickets for both concerts go on sale at 10am on Friday (February 14).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg announced the addition of two more concerts to its calendar – Enter the Haggis and Martin Sexton.

Hip-hop star Tech N9ne headlines the Independent Grind Tour, which is scheduled for a stop at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park at 8pm on Monday, April 28. Support acts for the show include Krizz Kaliko, Freddie Gibbs and Jarren Benton & the Psych Ward Druggies. Priced at $22.50 in advance ($25 at the door), tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday.

SOLD OUT: The concert by Beatles tribute band the Fab Faux at The Egg in Albany at 7:30pm on Saturday is now officially sold out.

British singer-songwriter Dan Croll – whose debut album Sweet Disarray is slated for release next month – is scheduled to make a tour stop at the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany on Saturday, April 19. Panama Wedding will open the show.
