MUSIC: Guitar Passions: Sharon Isbin, Stanley Jordan & Romero Lubambo @ The Egg, Albany. As part of the Rhythm International Series, three master guitarists meet to perform an exquisite evening of classical, jazz and Latin music. Classical guitarist Sharon Isbin is joined by the iconic jazz master Stanley Jordan and Brazil’s leading guitarist Romero Lubambo. 7:30pm. $34.50.

TALK: Anne Bogart @ Skidmore College’s Gannett Auditorium, Saratoga Springs. The award-winning theater director delivers the McCormack Residency Lecture. 8pm.

MUSIC: Loves It @ the Spotty Dog, Hudson. Founded in Austin in 2010, the harmony-driven duo features songwriters Vaughn Walters and Jenny Parrott, who often switch between guitars, fiddle, and banjo. With the hard-edged rockabilly of Chops & Sauerkraut featuring bassist Chops Laconte and vocalist-guitarist “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins. 8pm. $5.

In addition to founding the acclaimed Louisiana Cajun group Balfa Toujours, the multi-talented Dirk Powell has recorded with such artists as Jack White, Joan Baez, T Bone Burnett, Anthony Minghella, Loretta Lynn and Spike Lee. Tonight he teams up with North Carolina traditional old-timey musician Riley Baugus. With Polly & Anand (of Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem). 7pm. $20.

THEATER: “The Mountaintop” @ Capital Repertory Theatre, Albany. Katori Hall’s play brings new humanity to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in the hours before his assassination at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. MUSIC: Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires @ Pearl Street, Northampton. The soulman grabbed the national spotlight late in life, and he ain’t about to let it go. Check out the award-winning 2012 documentary film, “Charles Bradley: Soul Of America.” Or his Daptone Records album Victim of Love. Director Yasuzô Masumura’s 1966 film tells the story of young army nurse Sakura Nishi (Ayako Wakao) and her doomed relationship with Dr. Okabe (Shinsuke Ashida), a drug-addicted surgeon.
