The Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company (ESDC) returns to The Egg on Saturday (January 18) at 8pm in a program that will feature a company premiere with live music and projected visual art, as well as another newly created work by Ellen Sinopoli for area dance students. The evening will begin with a 7:15pm prelude talk given by Sinopoli.

ESDC commissioned New York City violinist and composer Cornelius Dufallo to compose music for its newest creation, Continuum, for which he will perform live. The dance was created by Artistic Director Ellen Sinopoli and the dancers during a December residency at the Kaatsbaan International Dance Center. Adding further dimension to the work, visual art created by Willie Marlowe (see bio below) will be projected as a backdrop for the premiere.

For the first time ever, the concert program will feature dancers other than ESDC company members. Sinopoli auditioned Capital Region dance students ages 13-18, selected nine, and created a work for them to a Duffalo composition. The selected performers hail from Tina Marie’s Dance Academy in Guilderland, Art in Motion Dance Academy in Albany and Danceforce in Guilderland Center.
