ART/MORE: Free Day @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. Enjoy free admission and brick-wall-to-brick-wall programming throughout the museum. Art-making, dance performances, roaming musicians and gallery tours throughout the day. Performances by Berkshire Dance Theatre, Ramblin Jug Stompers, Frog Lotus Yoga and others. MUSIC: Brushy One String @ MASS MoCA’s Clun B-10, North Adams. Performing on an acoustic guitar with nothing but a D-string, Brushy One String manages to pack the energy and soul of an eight-piece Jamaican dance-hall band into just one string and one huge voice. 8pm. $16 & $20; $10 students.

MUSIC: Folk DJ Series @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Chris Wienk of WEXT 97.7-FM hosts the first night of the three-part Folk DJ Series, introducing three of his Local 518 favorites – Tor & the Fjords, Zan Strumfeld and Ashley Sofia – to the venerable Lena stage with on-stage interviews and lots of great songs. 8pm. $17.

MUSIC: The Elvis Birthday Bash @ Daisy Baker’s, Troy. The King is gone but he’s not forgotten. Elvis Presley would have turned 79 years old this month, and Mark Gamsjager & the Lustre Kings are here to lead their annual musical tribute with a whole mess o’ special guests. 9pm. $15. UPDATE: Due to the flooding at Daisy Baker’s last month, the venue has still not re-opened for business, so the bash has been moved to Franklin’s Tower, Albany. 8pm. FREE.
