February is looking mighty damn good at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, where newly announced concerts include the great gospel group the Blind Boys of Alabama at 9pm on Saturday, February 15 ($30, $40, $50 & $60); former J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf at 9pm on Saturday, February 22 ($25, $35 & $55); and Les Claypool’s Duo De Twang at 9pm on Friday, February 28 ($25 & $50).

In support of their new album Blowout (which landed on Rolling Stone’s list of the Best Albums of 2013), Brooklyn garage-rockin’ gurus the So So Glos head into the Hollow Bar & Kitchen in Albany for a no-dough, absolutely free concert on Friday, January 31. Nippertown country-punks the Slaughterhouse Chorus open the show at 8pm.
Following his headlining performance at LarkFest in September, British singer-songwriter Bobby Long returns to WAMC-FM’s The Linda at 8pm on Friday, February 21. Tickets are $17. And Nora Jane Struthers & the Party Line roll into The Linda at 8pm on Thursday, April 10, as part of the American Roots concert series. Michael Eck hosts and serves as the opening act. Tickets are $15.
Putnam Den in Saratoga Springs has added a handful of new shows to its 2014 calendar, including Donna the Buffalo at 9:30pm on Thursday, February 6 (#17 in advance; $20 at the door); Zach Deputy at 9:30pm on Tuesday, February 25 ($14 in advance; $17 at the door); and Conspirator at 9pm on Thursday, February 27 ($15 in advance; $18 at the door).
SOLD OUT: If you haven’t already snagged your tickets for the acoustic Band of Horses concert at The Egg in Albany on Sunday, February 23, it looks like you’re out of luck, as that show is now officially sold out.
The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park welcomes back the SnoCore Tour at 7pm on Sunday, February 9. Led by “Gossip Girl” actress Taylor Momsen, the Pretty Reckless headline the tour with support performances from Heavens Basement, the Letter Black and Crobot. Tickets are on sale now for $16 in advance; $18 at the door. Also headed into UCH is Switchfoot, who take over the spotlight on Friday, March 21. The Royal Concept is slated to open the show at 8pm. Priced at $20 in advance ($22 at the door), tickets are slated to go on sale at 10am on Monday, January 13.

Vibraphonist Warren Wolf and his band Wolfpack have been added to the line-up for Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sunday, June 29.
